(IT) Senior Voice Engineer – Investment Bank

My client, a market-leading organisation, is seeking a senior Voice Engineer to assist in project, design and consultancy work across arange of telephony devices, including Cisco, Avaya and NEC. This is a Senior role within a large team. The Voice Networks team manages and supports the voice network infrastructure. The technology supported includes NEC and Nortel PABX’s, Cisco IPTel, Avaya ACD, Syntegra Dealer Phones and NiceLog and Eyretel voice recording systems. An opportunity has arisen for a senior voice networks engineer to join the team. In this role you”ll be required to: provide technical support, architectural and design direction for voice infrastructure develop voice standards provide technical consultancy to business units and other ITG teams interface directly with end users perform capacity planning and management carry out network design and planning plan and perform system maintenance (including preventative maintenance) manage medium to large voice projects (including Telco provisioning) initiate, manage and implement change update and maintain system documentation perform network monitoring and management determine voice network monitoring and management platforms In addition you will be expected to manage voice processes and procedures, manage voice networks BCP/DR design and documentation, investigate future voice trends and technologies including suggested timing of implementation and pilot new equipment services where possible. To succeed in this role you will possess: previous call centre experience including detailed knowledge of the Avaya ACD experience working on IP Tel/VOIP development and implementation excellent technical skills with an in depth knowledge of voice infrastructure the ability to multi task and manage multiple concurrent projects strong communication and coordination skills excellent customer service and client interface skills proven project management skills prior experience in vendor management and technical consultation the ability to interface and work closely with other architecture teams. Experience with some or all of the following technologies is highly desirable : Cisco IP Tel/VOIP NEC PABX Avaya ACD NiceLog & Eyretel Voice recording systems Syntegra Dealing Telephone systems. Assuming responsibility, working well within a team environment, managing escalations from 2nd line teams and managing communication with internal business clients, vendors and other ITG teams will form an essential part of this role as will alignment with the current organisational strategic and cultural objectives.
